Ghostbusters Game Controversy: Media made, programming inexperience, or sabotage?
I’m having a big problem with trying to get my head around this Ghostbusters Ps3 vs. 360 issue. Quite frankly because I’m having some issues with how the media is taking this. I’ve read the Ars Technica article, and from what I’ve seen, they were trying so hard to dissolve Terminal Reality (TR) of any blame, making it all about the PS3 hardware (and this had absolutely nothing to do with the hardware until the AT article came up…well, that and TR trying to pass off the blame). We have TR trying to make excuses, and we have fanboys making a battle ground out of a game no one gave a shit about until this all started.
So yeah, I’m left with a few possible reasons why this is going on. Either this is something the “let’s bash the PS3 anyway we can” crowd is using because it has nothing else to use, Terminal Reality didn’t know how to program, or this was a well-crafted way to sabotage the PS3 in the worst way possible.
Worst Person In The Gaming World (March 13-20)
It’s that time again.
We haven’t done this in a while, but we figured that there is a reason to bring this back for a week (we have enough people to do this for that have really effed up big time).
Conservative “Christians” World Net Daily, Nerve Media, and our old friend Greenie all made this list. And oh my God, do we EVER have winners for this week. Just remember that this is just ranked based upon opinion only. You judge who really deserves top spot, since they all deserve it this week.
Here we go, this week’s nominees for Worst Person In The Gaming World.

Variety like Ann Coulter: A generalizing slut
You know, it’s funny about the upcoming Killzone 2. Everyone now has an opinion about not only the game, but the people defending it from the influx of anti-Sony sites like Kotaku and GameDaily that would love to screw around with the Metascore. But that Edge 7/10 needed to be explained a lot more than it was. I’ve always said that if you are going to be in the minority as far as opinions about a certain thing goes, you better damn well have a good explanation as to why you’re in that minority. This is why Ben Durka said something on PSXExtreme about that Edge review. It was highly inconsistent (just as inconsistent as Famitsu is), the things they said did not justify the score, and it just reeked of either anti-Sony bias or plain stupidity. No one’s saying that no one is allowed to have a negative reaction to KZ2 or anything like that, but Edge seemed to just want some attention in the influx of everyone that would disagree with them.
But Variety had no right to go about posting what they did. Sony fanboys are like Rush Limbaugh? Yeah, right, bud, and people like you are just like Ann Coulter-geist: Generalizing every single person from one side of the equation and saying that they are the scum of the Earth while the other side comes out smelling like a goddamn rose.
Worst Person In The Gaming World (FEB 1-7)
With the Pittsburgh Steelers winning a record 6th Super Bowl win in what is to be one of the most memorable 4th quarters in Super Bowl history (I knew it would be a good game. Didn’t think I would almost be hurling things at the TV screen when Fitzgerald was allowed to run through the seam after that catch to give Arizona their first lead at the worst possible time, though), and with me not doing this in a while (and with some awards to give), I figure to redeem myself for not doing this in a bit in order to once again give the latest list of nominees for Worst Person In The Gaming World.
Worst Person in the Gaming Year for 2008
Yes, 2008 has ended, and we believe that it was a complete year for gaming. The 360 and Wii did it’s usual competing, and the PS3 is making it a contest again. Portables have been getting love, as well, with games and features being added, and a new portable entering the race in the iPhone.
However, with all of these happenings in this year, we need to mention some things that weren’t that great. Edge listed the top gaming heroes of 2008, and it was an interesting list. However, with the ying, there must be a yang. The good needs to have the bad to be complete, and that is where we come in.
This is, without a doubt, the worst of the worst for this past year in our eyes. These are those that made sure we had headaches, nightmares, and laughter at what they said or did. These are the people that when they said something, we just look at them and say, “What in the HELL did you just say again?” Some of these are rather funny when you think about them, while some are so serious that no mockery is appropriate.
Yes, this is, without a doubt, the Worst People in the Gaming Year.
We’ll do this similar to Worst Persons in the Gaming World. We’ll try to list in order of how serious we think their offense is the top people for this one. We know there’ll be some disagreements, and we might forget some people (there was alot of bad as there was good this year), so we encourage that you comment below as to who you think would make this list if you were making it. We look forward to hearing some of the people you would choose.
But we recommend you read our list first. Without further adue, the Worst Person in Gaming for 2008.
Worst Person In The Gaming World (Dec. 21-27)
The first thing we would like to say is that we hope your holidays were joyous and full of cheer. We know ours were.
However, we give to you a few Christmas (or Hanukkah or whatever holiday you celebrate at this time) presents of our own. We give to you our latest installment of what is already becoming a classic bit: The Worst Person in the Gaming World. As our last of this year (and the third one we have done), we think you will enjoy this one.
For this installment, there is actually an update on a few things involving a worst person nominee from a few weeks ago. And we have someone that you will never expect be on this list, and we hope you let us explain ourselves before saying anything about this weeks top pick, because it’s something we thought we needed to do, being as how we’re reaching the end of 2008, and thus, something that we didn’t think we would ever get to has finally arrived.
Before we get to it, though, a few things: 1. Our feelings about these people’s actions ARE serious, but we just love to be funny about our disdain about them, and 2. There was a few people who was wondering how Microsoft (the silver winner last week) was a “person”. First, it’s collectively a person in lawsuits (it’s reason for being there last week), and second, it can also be the worst person”S” in the gaming world. Don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of those types of winners, too. We’ll adjust as we feel appropriate.
So, with that out of the way, it’s time for our latest list of nominees for “Worst Person(s) (there we go) in the Gaming World”.
Worst Person In The Gaming World (Dec. 14-20)
It’s time for our latest list of nominees for Worst Person In The Gaming World.
We have a lead man for a famous rock group, a gaming company, and a developer all vying for the top prize this week.
You know how we do this: By using sarcasm and humor to humiliate those that say or do dumb things within or about or on behalf of the video game industry. Although we do this out of humor, there ARE times where we cannot be funny. Fortunately, this week is NOT one of those times.

Worst Person In The Gaming World (Dec. 7-13)
We are pleased, or displeased, to give you a new feature that we hope is weekly: The Worst Person In The Gaming World. Yes, this is a direct play on Keith Olbermann’s famous Worst Person In The World. We are going to highlight people that said or did some stupid or disheartening stuff in the gaming world, or said things about the gaming world that insults others or intelligence, or something completely disgusting that wouldn’t be condoned in the human race.
Of course, no one is going to be safe from this hatchet (not even us), as nearly everyone involved in the game industry might end up on here. From people in the media who made idiotic, baseless stories to figureheads who shouldn’t say the things that they did say. This is a referendum and a call out on those issues. Two-faced people will get on here in a heartbeat.
Could being on this list amount to an insult at the people who get on here? Maybe not. Some of the people who get on Olbermann’s list take it in stride, especially when they KNOW what they said was a stupid thing to say. Some even take it as a badge of honor because they said something so remarkable that they got noticed by someone. Also, as always, there is usually a sense of sarcasm and us being smart-asses about everything we say, so don’t take too many of these too seriously. Just think of this as us being the evilest we can be towards some people (don’t worry, the people we do it to on here will deserve it).
