fallout-3-1010As most of you very well know by now, Bethesda’s Todd Howard has made a very controversial quote concerning an endgame to Fallout 3 on the Playstation 3. He said, “Not at this time, no.” This is while both the 360 version and the PC version of the popular game is scheduled to recieve post-ending content for their versions. Many people, even though that have no plans to buy a PS3 console, have called this move highly unfair and without a reason behind it. Many knew about Bethesda’s decision to give the 360 some exclusive downloadable content, but never did they imagine this kind of shafting for one system’s version.

This is where Game Gazette comes in. Todd Howard apparently has a love fest for MTV Multiplayer, and is obviously doing the rounds for talking to people. We want to have the opportunity to ask him a few tough questions about his reasoning behind the PS3 version being shafted like this. In this regard, I am going to challenge Todd Howard to answer these questions, and to e-mail me so we can get something set up for him to answer them, because the gamers deserve some answers that he isn’t giving to questions that not too many will be asking him.

Mass Effect PS3 rumors “inaccurate” isn’t a rumor killer.

Posted by darkpower On January - 22 - 2009

masseffecta31Mike Bowden at VideoGaming 24/7 talked with an EA rep that told him about the possible Mass Effect PS3 porting rumors, “The rumour regarding Mass Effect being developed for PS3 is inaccurate. Hope that helps.”

Maybe they meant that as a rumor killer (they made the usual “no comment” line about the future titles, which in gaming terms means “it’s coming but NDA’s prevent us from saying anything about it”), but it hardly is, because of the simple fact that the rep’s language of “inaccurate”.

AnalogHype has become like Joe Flacco: Exposed

Posted by darkpower On January - 20 - 2009

ahDarkpower here, I’ll talk to you directly this time (unless some Baltimore Ravens fans kill me for that headline first), because I’m wanting to have full credit for this one…well, for the first 40 or so minutes that I was able to listen to a podcast that this website called AnalogHype posted this Sunday (I do believe). 40 minutes because by that point, I cared so little for it anymore that I had to turn it off. Fortunately, someone had enough nerve to listen to all of it.I also warn you that this will be a bit long, since there’s a LOT to get to on this one (UPDATE: I ended up listening to some more of it just so I could confirm some of these quotes for this article. You’re welcome, by the way).

I do get called a number of different things because of my personal console preference right now (the PS3, though that hasn’t stopped me from being fair nor critical of Sony or any of the idiots who are true fanboys to any system). You can have a preference without being a fanboy. Thus, I know when the line is and when I’m nearly crossing it (though I might here since this seems to be too damn good to be true). However, it seems like people who were on the AnalogHype decided to cross that line and then cross several others after that. There was one thing perfectly clear to anyone who actually listened to that garbage: AH is ran by a shitload of 360 fanboy clowns!

Why a PS3 port of Left 4 Dead should, and needs, to happen

Posted by darkpower On January - 18 - 2009

Okay, so now we have two seperate instances of a Playstation 3 Left 4 Dead version being in the works in some kind. One was fake (a reciept from EB Games, which one should’ve immediately questioned before even looking at the reciept, because many EB Games are now Gamestop and are now referred to as such), and one that was only considered fake but never said as fake (a Best Buy preorder card). Regardless of whether or not you believe the latter one (the former one was admitted to be falsified, the guy who was behind the latter one stands behind his story), the point remains: For some reason, Playstation 3 owners wouldn’t mind having the latest Valve shooter. With Doug Lombardi last summer making the “50/50 chance” claim last summer, there is still a chance that Valve may actually try to develop for the PS3 despite Gabe Newell’s prejudice about the system.

However, to me, at least, the fact remains: If Valve really cares about their fans and really wants for all audeinces to experience a hit, they will have to make this happen. There’s more reasons, though, and here, we’ll list them, one by one.

Gaming Target Doesn’t Give All The Facts

Posted by darkpower On January - 14 - 2009

This is one that we’ve been pondering for a bit before we decided to do an article about this story. Apparently, right after making a claim that this will be the year of the 360, as well (which he had the right to opine), Gaming Target editor and contributor John Scalzo lists “Further Proof the PS3 is Done”. All well and good…IF he hadn’t gotten most of his claims either wrong or completely sourceless.
