With rumors about a possible Left 4 Dead port getting into mainstream via listings on Play.com and on HMV, CVG contacted Valve in order to get some answers to what was going on. What transpired was a mock of the news, with a Valve representative telling CVG, “Fantastic. I can’t wait to see it.” However, this has actually sparked some new controversy regarding Valve’s attitude towards the Playstation 3, and it’s something that Game Gazette has now attempted to get clarification for.

I have currently left a voice mail on Doug Lombardi’s phone as “priority” and a clear indication of how to get a hold of me via e-mail. I am also going to try tomorrow to reach Doug to get some answers.

It’s important to remember that this was an unnamed representative that said this, not the main people at Valve. Thus, it’s possible that the higher ups might actually frown (at least I hope they would) upon such unprofessional behavior (assuming CVG isn’t doing it’s usual spiel of taking people out of context and being shoddy at reporting news again). Either that or the rep was hinting that the PS3 port was indeed coming. If it is the former, then I feel as if this representative owes an apology and/or possible disciplinary action is deserved of this representative.

Either way, be sure to keep with GG, and as SOON as we can get clarification about this behavior from the higher ups at Valve, we will do our best to get that answer to you.
